Mr. Lockwood, the new tenant at Thrushcross Grange, arrives at the decrepit Wuthering Heights to pay a visit to his neighbor and landlord, Mr. Heathcliff. Lockwood quickly learns that his new neighbors are deeply inhospitable and bitter, and he wishes to leave. But a devastating storm makes that impossible. Lockwood takes refuge in a long-disused room and tries to sleep. But soon, the ghost of a young woman appears at his window and begs to be let in. Horrifed and seeking an explanation, Lockwood goes to Ellen, the housekeeper, and settles in to hear her tumultuous and devastating story of what has happened at Wuthering Heights over the last 40 years.
Set on the wild and secluded moors of Yorkshire, we relive the story of Cathy and Heathcliff, who form an inseparable, if toxic, bond that threatens to destroy everyone around them.
This Wuthering Heights highlights the impacts of generational trauma, and how the past can haunt us. Literally.
